The Steinbach Black Wings Linz won the top game of the 31st round against the league leader Hydro Fehérvár AV19 3:2 after overtime. The second-placed team was trailing 0:1 and 1:2 in the meantime. The home side only managed to equalize through Andreas Kristler 76 seconds before the end of the third period. Logan Roe scored the game-winner in overtime. The Black Wings are six points behind the Hungarians in the table at Christmas, having played one game less. It was Fehérvár's second game in 24 hours. On Thursday, they won 3:2/OT at the Pioneers. In the third duel of the season with the Black Wings, they were beaten for the second time.

KAC wins the Pack Derby
The EC-KAC celebrated a narrow 2:1 away win in the „Pack Derby“ at the Moser Medical Graz99ers. It was the fifth win from the last six games for the third-placed team from Klagenfurt. For the 99ers, on the other hand, it was their third defeat in their last five games. The Styrians therefore remain in thirteenth and last place in the table. Raphael Herburger put the KAC ahead against the 99ers in the 18th minute. Johannes Bischofberger doubled the lead just before the end of the second period. Graz also scored 26 seconds before the end of the game, therefore KAC goalkeeper Sebastian Dahm narrowly missed a shutout. In the end, the Dane had a save percentage of 94.4%.

Clear win for Pustertal in Salzburg
The HC Pustertal celebrated a surprising 7:1 away win at defending champion EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Red Bulls were even leading 1:0 after thirteen minutes before the Wolves pulled away to 3:1 in the first period. The South Tyroleans scored two goals in the final minute of the first period. The highlight goal was the 2:1 from Mikael Frycklund, who scored after a fantastic assist from Jason Akeson. In the middle period, Akeson scored first, then David Morley and Raphael Andergassen increased the lead to 6:1, with Frycklund scoring the final goal in the 54th minute. It was Pustertal's first win against Salzburg after seven consecutive defeats. They remain in seventh place in the table, but have the same number of points as sixth-placed Villach. Salzburg is fourth.

Important away win for Vienna
The spusu Vienna Capitals won the PULS 24 live game at the HC TIWAG Innsbruck with 2:1 after shootout. Innsbruck, which surprisingly parted ways with last year's regular-season MVP Brady Shaw only on Friday morning, took the lead in the seventh minute in a double powerplay situation. It remained a tight 1:0 until twelve minutes before the end of the game, before VIC top scorer Rok Ticar equalized. The game then went into the shootout, in which Ticar also scored the decisive penalty. It was the first win for the twelfth-placed team from Vienna after three consecutive defeats. The Capitals are five points off the tenth place. Innsbruck lost for the third time in the last five games and are still only three points behind the sixth place in the table.

Home wins after regulation for Villach and Bolzano
Both the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV and the HCB Südtirol Alperia celebrated a home win after regulation. Villach beat Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 6:3 thanks to a strong final period. The game was still tied 3:3 after two periods. A brace from Andrew Desjardins saw the sixth-placed team pull 5:3 ahead in the final period, with Alexander Rauchenwald scoring the final goal.

Bolzano had no problems in their 3:0 home win against the HK SZ Olimpija. The team in fifth place in the table scored a goal in every period. In the end, it was the third win in a row for the Foxes, while Olimpija suffered their second defeat in a row and remain four points clear of eleventh-placed Asiago in tenth place. Gianluca Vallini in the goal of Bolzano saved all 27 shots on his goal and celebrated his second shutout of the season.
