Steinbach Black Wings Linz celebrated their first victory in the second preseason game. Rasmus Tirronen and his team-mates kept their goal clean despite numerous penalties due to a number of hard tackles. Niklas Würschl scored the decisive goal in the 39th minute. The onrushing defenceman was played in from behind the goal, his shot was deflected and rolled into the net.

Fehervar without a chance on home debut
The first home game in the new Alba Arena did not go according to plan for Hydro Fehérvár AV19. The Hungarians conceded a 7:1 defeat against Slovakian champions HK Nitra. Bence Stipsicz scored the home side's only goal in the third period.

Pioneers suffer first defeat
The Pioneers Vorarlberg suffered their first defeat in their third preseason game, as the team from Feldkirch lost 3:6 at home to the GCK Lions from Switzerland. Head coach Dylan Stanley's team showed strong offence at times, but was slowed down by individual mistakes and the effectiveness of GCK's power play units. The Pioneers' goals were scored by Josh Passolt, David Keefer and Daniel Woger.
