The Alps Hockey League family came together in Villach this weekend. Firstly, a look was taken at the latest league developments. From a sporting perspective, the current season is exciting: the top four are separated by just four points, with many teams in the race for direct play-off qualification in a competitive mid-table. 57 per cent of games have been decided by one or two goals difference, and the number of young players on the ice has increased significantly. Compared to the same period last season, spectator numbers have risen again and social media channels are also becoming increasingly popular.

In addition to analysing the status quo, the league decision-makers also discussed the game mode and roster regulations - proposals were presented to further promote youth. In the course of the forum, the clubs also provided each other with support, with Zell am See managing director Patrick Schwarz talking about the positive development of his club in recent years and sharing his experiences with the colleagues.

"Our goal is to continue the successful path of the Alps Hockey League. The season so far has shown how balanced and exciting the league is. I'm also pleased that even more young players are getting their chance. The course for this was set at the last AHL Forum, which also emphasises the importance of regular meetings. The league, clubs and federations will continue to be strong partners," reports Board of Governors Chairman Marcello Cobelli.

BOG member Nicolas Stockhammer: "The Alps Hockey League is an excellent product of three federations. The forum is important for the further development of the league, which has steadily improved on many levels in recent years. The exchange between the teams is the basis for taking the next steps. Through joint efforts, we want to become even more professional and overcome challenges as a collective."
