HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, the only team already fixed in the quarterfinals, won the top match of the Alps Hockey League against local rival HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice with 4:2. Jesenice missed the chance to solve the playoff ticket early in the derby, but still remain in second place. In the third Slovenian derby of the season, the Dragons prevailed for the second time. Jesenice has yet to win any of the national duels this AHL season - they managed one tie in the Return2Play Round. After 19 scoreless minutes on Wednesday, the hosts managed to score the opening goal at the end of the first period. Jesenice equalized in the middle period, but then could not keep up with the pace of their local rivals. Two goals from Anze Ropret brought the decision.

In the second Wednesday game of the Alps Hockey League, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated a commanding shutout victory over EC Bregenzerwald and thus fulfilled the "mandatory task" in the race for the preliminary quarter-final qualification. The fourth-placed Yellow-Red team extended its lead over chasing Salzburg to four points. The Vorarlberg team was able to keep up the pace of Asiago in the first period. Despite trailing 0:1, the hosts created good chances. In the middle third, the guests shifted up a gear and increased to 4:0. Bregenzerwald could not add to the score and had to accept the second goalless defeat in a row. The team from Vorarlberg is still in tenth place in the standings. Their advantage over the 13th-placed team is eight points.
