Ljubljana with the better end after Broncos comeback
HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana prevailed in the second game of the AHL quarterfinals as well, moving to 2-0 in the best-of-five quarterfinal series. After a clear 7-3 win in the first game in Ljubljana, the Slovenians recorded a 4-3 victory in Brixen on Tuesday. The regular season winners controlled the game at the beginning and Marc Olivier Vallerand opened the scoring in the seventh minute. The Broncos held on in the rest of the first period. However, 34 seconds before the first break, WSV goalie Jakob Rabanser had to reach behind for the second time. But the Broncos had the right answer only 14 seconds later and made it 1:2. Also in the middle period the guests had a clear chance plus, but Rabanser proved his reactions. But again Ljubljana cracked the WSV goalie in the last minute of the period. The Broncos did not let themselves down again and fought their way back into the match. Dante Hannoun and Hannes Oberndorfer tied the game within two minutes in the final period with a brace. But the Slovenians had the better end: Vallerand brought the decision with his second goal of the evening. With this, Ljubljana captured the "match puck" to win the series in their home arena on Thursday.

Asiago captures match puck in Veneto derby
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated a narrow victory over S.G. Cortina Hafro also in the second "Derby Veneto". For the second time in this series, only one goal made the difference. For Asiago it was the first win in this AHL season visiting Cortina. However, in the first two periods the focus was on the defensives and especially the goalies. The first two periods were even with good chances on both chances. However, neither Marco De Filippo nor Gianluca Vallini allowed any goals. Finally, in the 47th minute Davide Faloppa opened the scoring for the hosts. From that point on, however, things suddenly went blow for blow on the other side. Just over two minutes after that, the encounter was turned around with a brace from Steven McParland and Davide Dal sasso. Cortina couldn't fight back and will play against the season's end on Thursday.

Jesenice fights back 2-0
After Sunday's hard-fought win by HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Sunday, the Slovenians added a second narrow victory. Just like on Sunday, the Slovenians took the lead in the first period. Zan Jezovsek was able to cheer his second playoff goal. Gherdeina managed to equalize in the second period in the person of Joonas Mikael Niemelä. But it did not last long. Less than a minute later Nejc Stojan gave the Slovenians the lead again. Jezovsek, as on Sunday, scored an empty-netter to make the final score 3:1 and finally clinch a spot in the semifinals.
