Sat, 05.12.2020, 5.30 pm: EHC Lustenau – EC-KAC II
Referees: HOLZER, HUBER A., Huber J., Spiegel.
At the EHC Lustenau two consecutive home-games ate on the cards: Before the Vorarlberg side hosts the HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Sunday, the EC-KAC II will be a guest in the "Ländle" on Saturday. In the Rheinhalle, Lustenau still has a clean sheet in the current championship and has won all five games. Recently it beat AHL-leader Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Against the Salzburg side, which is now taking a break until January 9th due to the U20 World Championship, the EC-KAC II also competed past week - but had to admit defeat in both games. The fact that the defeats in the end were only one goal difference, thanks to goalie Florian Vorauer, who had 96 shots to save. Klagenfurt has lost its last nine league games. Chris D'Alvise has completed another week of training on the side of the "stickers" and seems to be back to 100%. In the comeback game against Salzburg he already scored one goal and dished one assist.
Sat, 05.12.2020, 5.30 pm: Steel Wings Linz – VEU Feldkirch
Referees: PODLESNIK, WUNTSCHEK, Matthey, Puff.
VEU Feldkirch is fighting for its first road win in the current season at Steel Wings Linz. The Vorarlberg side have so far lost all four games on the road but are still the clear favorites against the Upper Austrians: Linz lost their last five games in a row. In their last three games against the VEU, the Steel Wings were unable to score a goal. In the fourth-to-last encounter on December 5th, 2019 – exactly one year ago – Linz took points for the last time at home, losing to Feldkirch 3:4 after a penalty shootout. Upper Austria scored the fewest goals (12) and conceded the most goals (71) this season.
Sat, 05.12.2020, 7.00 pm: Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Referees: BENVEGNU, GIACOMOZZI F., Fleischmann, Mantovani.
After each road win last Saturday, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it will meet for the fourth time this season. The first three games, two of them in the return 2-play phase, were won by the road team. Val Gardena's top scorer and AHL's top scorer Brad McGowan (13G |12A) scored in all three encounters with Asiago. His impressive goal scoring streak - he scored in the first nine consecutive games - ended on November 17th, he has not scored for three games. With Asiago (25,7% | #2) and Gröden (26,9% | #1) the two best powerplay teams in the league face each other.
Sat, 05.12.2020, 7.30 pm: SHC Fassa Falcons – Rittner Buam
Referees: EGGER, LEGA, Bedana, Slaviero.
After winning the first point since the Covid-19 forced break (1:2 OT defeat against SGC) the Rittner Buam have to go on the road again, stopping by at SHC Fassa Falcons. Ritten has not yet lost a single game against the "Falcons" in the Alps Hockey League. Fassa's last victory came on January 21st, 2016 (2:1 OT). This year the duel already took place on October 24th - and the "Buam" had everything under control with 5:2. This was also Ritten's lone victory within the last seven games. Fassa has a better ranking available, taking four wins from the last seven games. Both teams have potential for improvement especially in the powerplay (RIT 16.2% | #12 and FAS 15.9% | #13). Ritten is missing the long-term injured Kevin Fink.
Sat, 05.12.2020, 8.00 pm: HC Pustertal Wölfe – HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana
Referees: MOSCHEN, STEFENELLI, De Zordo, Ricco.
After the defensive battle on Tuesday, this Saturday there will be a return match between HC Pustertal Wolves and HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. Thanks to an outstanding Colin Furlong in front of the net, the "Wolves" won 1-0 four days ago, winning their first road game in the running championship. At home, Pustertal is looking to make up ground, give Ljubljana its second defeat of the season - and remain unbeaten on home ice. In Bruneck, however, the reigning champion has won four of his last five games and he wants to prove once again his almost perfect penalty killing: 94.9% is the HKO recording after eleven games, the Slovenians have only twice been defeated by a team that was one man up. But the HCP is doing well in box-play (92.7% | #2) too.
Sat, 05.12.2020, 8.30 pm: S.G. Cortina Hafro – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan
Referees: LAZZERI, PINIE, Cristeli, Piras.
The Saturday game day will be concluded with the duel between S.G. Cortina Hafro and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The Ampezzaner’s last extended their home series on Thursday: the 2:1 overtime victory against Ritten was the 18th consecutive point win on home ice. Against the Broncos, which were last defeated five times in a row, there was already one duel this year, which Cortina won 5:3.
