Ljubljana wants to continue winning run against Pustertal

In the top match of the Alps Hockey League the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana will meet the HC Pustertal Wölfe on Tuesday. While Ljubljana has not yet lost any of the ten matches of the season, Pustertal is still not in perfect shape. From the last five games the South Tyroleans could only win two. In the second match of the day, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors faces the EC-KAC II. The Young Bulls try to stay on top of the league table. Currently they are two points ahead of Ljubljana, although they have already played five more games.

League leader Red Bull Hockey Juniors plays at the EC-KAC II on Tuesday. The Young Bulls are currently at the top of the league table with 23 points. The KA2 is in 14th place with fur points. They have lost the last seven games. Their last victory was on October 8th against the Steel Wings Linz. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors recently lost for the first time after four wins in a row. At the EHC Lustenau they suffered a 3:2-OT defeat. Danjo Leonhardt is top scorer of the Young Bulls with 17 points (7G/10A). The 18-year-old German has scored at least one point in the last five games. In the AHL, both teams have met 16 times so far. The guests from Salzburg are clearly leading with 13:3. In the last encounter, on February 27th, the KA2 won with 4:3 after Shootout.

In the match HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana against the HC Pustertal Wölfe, both teams of the 2019 final series will meet. The Slovenians won in a dramatic final after seven matches and won the championship in the Alps Hockey League for the first time. This year, Ljubljana is the clear favorite. HKO is still unbeaten this season and is in second place in the league table, with five games less played then league leader Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The season of PUS is still mixed. With 14 points from eleven matches they are in sixth place in the table. In their last game, last Saturday, they suffered a 2:1 defeat at the SHC Fassa Falcons. The South Tyroleans have big problems especially away from home. The Wolves could not win one of their last nine matches away. The last away win was on February 18th. In the Special Team both teams are especially strong in the Penalty Killing. While Ljubljana is in the lead with 94.4%, Pustertal follows in second place with 92.1%. HKO also has the goalkeeper with the best save percentage in its squad. Paavo Hölsä saved 96.8% of all shots at his goal. In two of his five appearances the 25-year-old Finn managed a shutout. In the H2H the Slovenians lead with 9:6.
