HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana has celebrated a 3:1-win in Quarterfinals game #6 in Klobenstein on Thursday and stepped up to the semifinals in Alps Hockey League, while EHC Alge Alastic Lustenau forced a deciding game 7 against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in Salzburg on Saturday.

EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau won Quarterfinals game #6 against the Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4:2 and forced a deciding game 7 in Salzburg on Saturday. The Lions came back from a 1:2-deficit with three goals in period 3. The Red Bulls searched their luck in the offense (38:18-shots) in Lustenau, but, the Lions opened the scoring: D’Alvise netted the 1:0 after just 252 seconds (5.). The Mozart Citizens stayed unimpressed and responded with a goal by Schreier just 257 seconds later – 1:1 (9.). The game got chippy late in the first period (48 PIM). The Red Bulls had a perfect start into period 2: Huber potted the 2:1 after just 117 seconds in a Power Play. The guests failed to extend their lead on a two minutes 5-on-3-Powerplay just moments later (26.). Besides, the Mozart Citizens took some penalties on their own and got punished by the Vorarlberger. Tschernutter (45./pp) and D’Alvise (47./pp) re-took the lead for the „Lions“ with two Power Play goals within 131 seconds early in the third period. The Red Bulls had no answer anymore, Arkiomaa has even netted the 4:2 for EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau into the empty net in minute 59. Now, the series has to be decided in a game 7 in Salzburg on Saturday.

Ritten found for Game 6 Alex Frei who recovered from his elbow injury. The two teams started immediately with a great rhythm. Then it came the episode that changed the history of the previous 5 games between Ritten and Ljubljana. Stefan Quinz was punished for high stick. In the first part of the powerplay not much happened because a player from Ljubljana lost the stick. Then Luka Zorko shooted from close range: the puck bounced off Brighenti's body and it entered in the the net (6'). An involuntary goal that allowed Ljubljana to overtake Tragust at the Ritten Arena after 126 minutes considering Game 2 and Game 4 of the quarterfinals. Less than two minutes later the Green Dragons double with a descent to the left of Ziga Pesut who then unloaded a diagonal at the intersection. Shortly after Tragust saved the result and the Renon returned to the game. Klobstein's team tried to catch up but Zan Us didn't leave any rebound. At the beginning of the second half the Renon put a lot of intensity in powerplay and Zan Us made two spectacular saved. The home team engaged hard the opponent's defense but Balkan always careful. Then the nervousness went up. The Slovenian team was also found in 4 against 3 but the result didn't change. In the third half Jezovsek failed on the run. Then it came the good break of Renon who actually reopened the game. Thomas Spinell deflected a high shot from the blue as they halved the disadvantage. Immediately after the Renon found the draw with a deviation on the fly of Markus Spinell but the referees cancel in a decisive manner for the movement with the hand of the puck of a player of Ritten. Then at 45' Pesut touched Tragust and the game was played in four against four with a lot of intensity. Then another superiority of Ljubljana and goal of Ziga Svete with a lucky and close deviation in powerplay. Below in the result for 3:1, the thrust of the home team stopped and Ljubljana controlled and then won the game and the series. Ljubljana reached for the first time the semifinals with a 4:2 in the series of quarters. For the first time the Ritten Buam didn't reach the semifinals.
