Ljubljana wins intra-league test match | Innsbruck and Pioneers successful

Olimpija Ljubljana beat EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV 4-3 in a Friday preseason fixture. HC TIWAG Innsbruck and Pioneers Vorarlberg secured home wins, while Hydro Fehérvár AV19 suffered an away defeat.

Villach and Ljubljana traded blows from the outset. The hosts took the lead after two minutes through Teasdale, but Olimpija turned the game around in the same minute with a double strike by Brennan and Urbas within seven seconds. After Sproul equalized, Boychuk made it 2-3 in the eighth minute. Teasdale leveled again with his second goal before the end of the first period at 3-3. The score remained unchanged until the 46th minute, when Bohinc scored the 3-4 winner.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck also won their second preseason home game. The Tyroleans defeated Regensburg 5-4 in a penalty shootout. Trailing 3-4 after 40 minutes, Owre’s second goal of the night forced overtime. The game went to a shootout, where Lindner secured the victory.

Pioneers Vorarlberg beat Ravensburg on home ice. Leeb gave the hosts the lead with the only goal of the first period. Five goals were scored within eleven minutes in the middle frame. Allen and Murray scored for Vorarlberg, who took a 3-2 lead into the break. Seppälä sealed a 4-2 final score with an empty-net goal.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 lost 1-6 at Banská Bystrica. Cheek scored the temporary consolation goal to make it 1-2 in the middle period during the away game in Slovakia.
