Ljubljana wins Slovenian Derby | Italian teams in Top-3

The HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana won a dramatic derby Slovenian Derby in penalty shootout. The new top trio are only Italian teams. Leader HC Pustertal, S.G. Cortina and Migross Supermercati Asiago celebrated wins to form the top three of the league. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and the EC-KAC won the Austrian clashes of the round. The EHC Lustenau defeats the Wipptal Sterzing Broncos – it was already their third consecutive deafeat.

Ljubljana won thrilling derby
The 500th Večni Derbi kept its promises and was thrilling and exciting till the last second and even longer. The first goal of the day was scored by Jesenice. After that Ljubljana captured a 2:1 lead. Jesenice came back in an impressive way and created the 3:2 lead in the final period. Only 21 seconds before the end Ljubljana tied the game again and forced the overtime. Cepon scored the game-winner in penalty shootout and brought the fourth consecutive win for Ljubljana.

Italian teams only in top 3
The new top trio are only Italian teams. Durch Siege vom HC Pustertal, S. G. Cortina Hafro und Migross Supermercati Asiago bildete sich ein rein italienisches Top-Trio. Leader HC Pustertal, S.G. Cortina and Migross Supermercati Asiago celebrated wins to form the top trio of the league.

After the tough defeat against the HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana Pustertal found the way back on the road of success. With a 3:1 win against the Zeller Eibären the wolves defended the lead in the standings. The Eisbären had to take defeat after winning on Wednesday. After an early goal of Pustertal, the Eisbären tied one more game, After that Pustertal took control and the 1:3 win.

S.G. Cortina Hafro delivered the second consecutive defeat to the Rittner Buam and captured the second place in standings. The Buam took the lead in the first period, after that Cortina acted more efficiently. Cortina scored three times in the final period to take the 3:1 win an the second place in standings. The Buam went down in standings to the fifths place.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated a win against the Vienna Capitals Silver. But the Caps delivered a tough battle to the AHL-Champ of 2018. Asiago needed more than 27 minutes to score the first goal. Asiago celebrated 3:0 win at the end to take the third place in standings.

Salzburg and KAC celebrate Derby-Wins
Two Austrian Clashes were on the schedule for this Super-Saturday. The EC KAC II and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated wins. The KAC took a clear 5:0 win against the Steel Wings Linz . Salzburg needed more effort to capture the three points. After a tough battle the Juniors won 3:1 and ended the five game loosing streak.

Lustenau, Fassa, Gherdeina win Italian-Austrian Duel
The HC Fassa Falcons captured the clear win against EC Bregenzerwald in the Italian Austrian duel. After goalless opening period the Falcons shifted one gear up. Three goals within six minutes brought the decision. The Falcons took the 4:0 win and climbed the standings to the ninths place.

The HC Gherdeina celebrated a hard fought 7:6 win against Feldkirch after penalty shootout. Feldkirch fought back two times in this game. After trailing by 0:2 Feldkirch managed to come back to 3:3. Another short burst of Gherdeina brought again a lead by two goals. Felfkirich fought back one more time and made the 6:6 for the overtime. In penalty shootout Gherdeina found the decision.

The WSV Sterzing Broncos lare losing ground. At the beginning of the season the Italians had the top position for a couple of rounds. After the third consecutive defeat they are the fifths ranked team right now. The EHC Lustenau celebrated a 5:3 success. The Broncos had a quci start into the game and the early lead. But then Lustenau took control and the 5:1 win.
