Lots of goals scored on Saturday

In four of Saturday's Alps Hockey League games more than ten goals were scored. With 10:2, leader Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan earned the highest win of the day. Fassa Falcons and EK Zeller Eisbären, who also scored 10 goal, got their first season victory while Steel Wings Linz at least scored their first goal.

Champion gets going

Olimpija Ljubljana extended their winning streak against Gherdeina. They opened the scoring with a pp goal and added a shorthander early in the second. After Gherdeina's first, the restored the two-goal lead. In the third the fury tied it with a brace and the game went into shootout where Gal Koren became the hero.

Linz without chance after debut goal
In the third minute of their home game against Salzburg, the Steel Wings Linz scored their debut goal in Alps Hockey League. In further consequence it was all Red Bulls, though. The Juniors left no doubt in a 7:1 road win with seven different scorers.

Cortina earns next win
After winning the first two games, Cortina travelled to Vienna to take on the Silver Capitals. The Italians used their first pp by Riccardo Lacedelli while the hosts struggled with a man advantage. The guests doubled the lead with a shorthander but Vienna got on the scoreboard in the final push. An empty netter made it safe.

Goal fest and first win for Zell am See
In their third attempt Zell am See got the first season win. The Austrians beat Jesenice 10:3 at home. The game was a mere 84 seconds old when they opened the scoring, at the end of the first period they had a 6:1 lead. Tobias Dinhopel and Tomi Wilenius both scored a brace.

Sterzing celebrates another big win
After four games Sterzing has the maximum points as the leaders beat Fedkirch 10:2. Shortly after the halfway point of the game they were 6:0 ahead with four goals scored on pp. In further consequence they promptly answered Feldkirch's two goals. Tobias Kofler and Tommy Kruselberger both scored twice.

Lustenau climbes to 5th place
As two years ago Lustenau earned a 2:1 win at Brunico. Chris D'Alvise scored the firstperiods only goal. After restart Hofer tied it at one but just 13 seconds later Lucas Haberl lit the lamp for the game winner. Despite having some good chances, Pustertal could not bounce back. With this win Lustenau climbed to 5th place.

Hard work for Ritten
Rittner Buam really struggled in their home game against EC Bregenzerwald, who are still without points. The Vorarlberg team showed great passion when equalizing it four times. With 101 seconds left Stefan Quinz finally scored the game winner for Ritten. It was the third win for the team of head coach Saavalainen.

KAC takes too many penalties in Asiago
Both teams showed nice defensive play for almost two periods. After a goalless first, Kalgenfurt broke the spell in the 40th minute on pp2. The hosts turned it around in the third for a 4:1 home win. Two goals were scored with a man advantage. Steven McParland had two goals for Asiago, wh got a second win against Klagenfurt within four days.

Fassa lands first win
Two goals by Davide Schiavone gave Fassa a 2:0 lead against Kitzbühel. In the second they even extended the lead for 3:0 resp. 5:2. The guests came back in the final period, though, scoring three goals within eight minutes. Late in the game Fassa was the lucky side to win it 7:5.
