Lukas Piff is an integral part of the spusu Vienna Capitals squad: The Vienna Capitals Hockey Academy graduate played 42 of the 48 regular season games. The native of Vienna and Caps own-build defender collected eleven assists in regular season. In February, he gave two assists. In the summer of 2019, the 20-year-old signed his first young professional contract, and before that went through all the Caps' junior levels. He was also considered for the U18 and U20 national teams.

"I am very happy to receive this award. My thanks, of course, to the fans, coaches and experts who voted for me. But I would also like to thank all the coaches who have supported me decisively since my childhood in the Vienna Capitals' junior team all the way to the pros. Without them and without my team this result would not have been possible. Being voted 'Young Star of the Month' gives me an extra push just before the playoffs. Now we can get started," says Lukas Piff.

Lukas Piff has thus qualified as the last monthly winner for the annual election. He will compete alongside teammates Patrick Antal, Sebastian Wraneschitz against Paul Huber (EC Red Bull Salzburg) and Akos Mihaly (Hydro Fehérvár AV19) for the Eisner Auto Young Star of the 2020/21 season award.

Procedure of the election
First, five monthly winners will be determined. For this purpose, four players per month are nominated to take part in the voting. The election consists of three components: in addition to the fan voting on the league homepage, the Puls24 and Sky experts, as well as the national team coaches of the countries participating in the ICE will also cast their votes. If two or more players receive the same number of votes, they will be ranked according to the result of the fan vote.
