Lustenau celebrates blowout win in Vienna

In Friday's lone Alps Hockey League game, EHC Lustenau celebrated a clear 7:1 victory at the Vienna Capitals Silver with captain Maximilian Wilfan scoring a hat trick. For the still third-placed Vorarlberg team it was the second win of the season over the bottom side.

Already in the fourth minute, defender David Slivnik put Lustenau in the lead. Although the visitors were clearly the superior team with getting lot more shots goalwards (17:5), the score remained 0:1 until the first break. After the restart, the Vorarlberg team proved to be much more efficient and pulled away to 0:6 by the 38th minute. Captain Maximilian Wilfan scored three times. In the final period, both teams were on eye level. After Philipp Koczera made it 0:7, Timo Pallierer scored the consolation goal for the Viennese in the 57th minute and denied EHC goalie Lukas Reihs a shutout. Lustenau thus also won the second duel of the season and consolidated third place in the table. For the Vorarlberg team, it was the first success in the third AHL game in Vienna.
