Lustenau gets another win against Asiago

EHC Lustenau extended their winning streak to eight. On Sunday the lions beat Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey  thanks to three unanswered third-period goals, 4:2. While the Austrians moved up to second, the sixth-placed Italian Alps Hockey League champion from 2018 suffered their fourth successive defeat.

Both teams played their second game within 24 hours. While Lustenau beat Linz 7:2, Asiago suffered a 4:3 defeat in Feldkirch on Saturday. Sunday's lone Alps Hockey League game picked up pace rapidly. Timo Demuth opened the scoring fot he home side in the 8th minute. Early in the second Mark Hurtubise missed a great chance to double the lead. Soon later the visitors became stronger and Steve McParland tied it on power play. Five minutes later Phil Pietroniro added a second for a 2:1 Asiago lead. In the third the Italians missed two pp opportunities with killing the penalties giving Lustenau strength. In the 47th minute Chris D’Alvise tied it at two and now the hosts had all the momentum. Stefan Hrdina turned it around once again with a pp marker and Chris D’Alvise made the game safe - 4:2.
