The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have signed David Madlener for the upcoming season in the win2day ICE Hockey League, as the Austrian national team goalkeeper returns to Feldkirch after nine ICE seasons.

The 30-year-old grew up at VEU Feldkirch. He played for the Vorarlberg side until 2013, after which the Austrian moved to Dornbirn before joining EC-KAC at the start of the 2016-17 season. With Klagenfurt, Madlener won the championship twice and was named Kärntner Eishockey Superstar in the 2019-20 season. In addition, the keeper was also very successful on the international stage in the Champions Hockey League. In the past season, he played a total of 19 ICE games (GAA 3.97) for the Dornbirn Bulldogs.
