Mai Crnkic named Young Star of the Month December

For the third time, the Alps Hockey League has named its Young Star of the Month. In the end, the vote – consisting of fan voting and a vote by the league organization – went in favor of Mai Crnkic of Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. The 20-year-old center is thus the third player to qualify for the season vote, which will take place during the playoffs. Eligible are all players born in 2005 or later.

Crnkic impressed in December with three goals, eleven assists, and a +4 plus/minus rating. He went scoreless in only three of nine December games, and in two matches he recorded three points, with a four-point performance in the win over Bregenzerwald as the highlight.

Overall, Crnkic has already tallied 41 points this season, making him joint top scorer for his team alongside Yoan Loshing and the fifth-highest scorer in the league. For the native of Jesenice, who also played youth hockey for his hometown club, this is his first season in Kitzbühel and in the Alps Hockey League.
