With great ambitions Matt Carter was signed from Angers in France this summer. Only one month after the start of the season his contract was already dissolved. The reason given was dissatisfaction with the performances shown. 35-year-old Mark Hurtubise will replace his Canadian compatriot with immediate effect. "Mark is a player with years of experience in European hockey. Together with the coaching staff we decided to replace Matt Carter with Hurtubise. We are sure that Mark can help us from his first appearances to end the long-running goal drought of the EHC. We wish Matt Carter in his hockey career only the very best,“ EHC Lustenau President Herbert Oberscheider said.

The biggest career stations of the center were so far the Krefeld Pinguine in the DEL, the EC-KAC in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and most recently the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League in the UK.
