While VEU Feldkirch lost all of their last six games, Val Gardena came to Vorarlberg with two wins. However, the game went in the direction of the efficient home side right from the start, with Linus Lundström scoring in the third minute to take the lead. Martin Mairitsch increased in the twelfth minute on power play, but with another power play goal the South Tyroleans got on the scoreboard through Patrick Nocker just a little later. However, Yannik Lebeda restored the two-goal lead before the end of the first period. In the middle frame, the visitors came back to within 3:2 and 4:3, but a brace by Mairitsch and Lundström within 49 seconds gave Feldkirch a comfortable 6:3 lead after 40 minutes. Matt Wilkins brought the "Furie" back to within two goals in the final period, but then the guests were literally overrun. Feldkirch scored five more goals - three of them against backup goalie Pauli Hofer. Martin Mairitsch contributed a total of five goals in the 11:4 win. Although Val Gardena took more shots (35:33), they suffered a bitter defeat in the end. For the Vorarlberg team it was the highest win of the season, in the return-to-play games they celebrated the highest success so far with an 8:1 over Bregenzerwald. With the ninth win in the eleventh duel with Gardena, the VEU climbed back up to eighth place in the table.
