Matchpucks for Asiago thanks to powerplay
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey made it 2:1 in the semifinals against EHC Lustenau and thus has the first matchpuck in Lustenau on Saturday. Last year's finalist benefited from its strong powerplay in a 4:2 home win. And this despite the fact that the Vorarlberg team had the second-best penalty killing in the league before the game. The first three goals, within the first 23 minutes of the game, were all scored in powerplay. The guests from Lustenau scored for the first time in the 37th minute of play. Stefan Häußle also scored in the power play. For the center it was already the twelfth scoring point in the ninth game for the EHC. In the final period, the guests made it exciting once again. Remy Giftopoulos scored after five minutes to make it 2:3, the only goal of the game in a five-on-five. Lustenau then had a few more chances, but they were unable to equalize. Shortly before the end, Asiago finally scored the 4:2 final score via an empty-net goal.

Jesenice has Ritten under control
Game three of the semifinal series between HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and the Rittner Buam was also decided by the home team. The Slovenians won clearly 6:0 and made it 2:1 in the "best-of-five" series. Thus, Jesenice is missing only one more win for the first final appearance in AHL history. Jasa Jenko opened the scoring for the home side in the eighth minute. The 21-year-old, who also scored the goal to make it 3:0, ended a seven-game scoreless streak. Jesenice was superior especially in the middle priod and pulled ahead to 4:0. The Slovenians scored the goals to make it 5:0 and 6:0 just before the end of the game. Goalkeeper Oskar Fröberg saved all 28 shots on goal and celebrated his fourth shutout of the season. Ritten remained without a goal for the first time since January 22nd and 22 games.
