In professional ice hockey, Matt Spencer quickly gained a foothold after 4 years in the OHL, making the jump directly to the AHL in 2017. After a total of 4 years between the ECHL (173 appearances) and AHL (54 games), the jump to Europe followed in the summer of 2021. With the Dornbirn Bulldogs, the defender was convincing: 1 goal, 12 assists and the best +/- balance of all regular defenders were on the books for Spencer.

Sports Director Patrick Bona: "Matt is a very solid two-way defender who will give us the necessary bulk with his size and weight. He is an excellent skater for his size and can play hard, so he will definitely help our team move on to the next level. We are very excited to have Matt join our project and HCP."

Matt Spencer: "I am very excited to be part of the Wolves family next season. I wanted to come to Bruneck to develop as a player and I'm already super excited to play in front of great fans. I can't wait and will give my best for HCP."
