For Bregenzerwald it was the first defeat after three wins in a row before. In the standings, ECB, in twelfth place, is now four points behind ninth-placed Merano, which celebrated its second win in a row. After the first period, everything was even in a generally contested game (1:1). In the middle period, the home side initially managed to pull away to 3:1. Finally, it went into the second period break with a 4:2 for Merano. No player was successful twice at this point. Only when Pascal Brunner scored in the power play ten minutes before the end of the game to make it 5:2, a player was able to score twice. For the 20-year-old it was the season goals nine and ten. A short time later, Bregenzerwald was able to reduce the score to 3:5, before Meran made everything clear with an empty-net goal shortly before the end of the game. Already on Thursday the Alps Hockey League continues with six games.
