The HC Meran/o Pircher started their Alps Hockey League adventure with a sensational 2:1-SO win at HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. On Thursday, the South Tyroleans want to follow up and score again points at the Rittner Buam. In addition, the EC-KAC Future Team will duel with the EK Die Zeller Eisbären on Thursday. The team from Klagenfurt was able to win with 4:1 at BEMER VEU Feldkirch on Tuesday. Making their season debut will be the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The South Tyroleans are the only team who have not played a game yet. First opponent will be the Red Bull Hockey Juniors.

The EC-KAC Future Team is currently the team of the hour. The Klagenfurt team has four points after two games. On Tuesday they celebrated a surprising 4:1 away win at the BEMER VEU Feldkirch. The EK Die Zeller Eisbären was also already in action against the VEU. For the league returnee from Salzburg it was the only game of the comeback season so far. In front of their home crowd, they lost narrowly with 2:3 after overtime. In the Alps Hockey League, the Carinthians and the Salzburger side have faced each other twelve times so far. In the last three duels, the "Eisbären" always kept the upper hand. Overall, Zell am See leads clearly in the H2H with 9:3.

Last year's semi-finalist, HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice started the new season with a surprising 1:2 SO loss against league newcomer HC Meran/o Pircher. In the second game of the season the Slovenians are guests at the Steel Wings Linz and thus again clear favorites. In their season premiere, the Upper Austrians were able to stand up to last year's finalists, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey, for a long time. In the end, the favorites from Italy kept the upper hand with 4:2. Linz has already won one game against Jesenice. On March 14th of this year, they won with 2:1 after overtime against the Slovenians.

As the 17th and last team, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will make their season debut on Thursday. Opponents are the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who have already played two games. After a 4:3 opening win against the EC Bregenzerwald, the Salzburger team was defeated by the EHC Lustenau with 2:4 on Tuesday. The last five duels between the Broncos and the Young Bulls all went to the South Tyroleans. Both teams faced each other last season in the pre-playoffs, which Sterzing won with 2:0. In the H2H WSV is clearly in front with 12:4.

While the SHC Fassa Falcons started the season with a clear 2:5 defeat at the Rittner Buam, S.G. Cortina Hafro didn't give the Vienna Capitals Sliver a chance (6:1). The "Falcons" have been waiting for a win for six games. In their home arena they lost in the last five games. Cortina, on the other hand, has won three of its last five away games. If you look at the direct duels, Fassa has a good chance. They were able to win the last three duels. In the H2H, Cortina nevertheless leads with 11:5.

For the first time in the Alps Hockey League there will be a duel between the HC Merano/o Pircher and the Rittner Buam. The league newcomer from Merano surprised in the opener against last year's semifinalist HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. They won with 2:1 against the Slovenians after shootout. Ritten also had a dream start to the season. The "Buam" didn't give the SHC Fassa Falcons a chance in a 5:2 home win.
