Meran/o signs new head coach | Transfer activities at a total of six clubs

In the past few days, a total of six clubs in the Alps Hockey League have announced new signings or contract extensions. Among others, the HC Meran/o Pircher will start the season with Jarrod Skalde as the new Head Coach.

New head coach in Meran/o
Jarrod Skalde has been named new head coach of HC Meran/o. The former head coach of The Cardiff Devils and Vlci Žilina joins the Alps Hockey League for the first time. Furthermore the Eagles have extended the contract of Nick Rein. Last season, the 26-year-old defenseman recorded three goals and four assists in 36 Alps Hockey League games.

Hawkey new goalie in Cortina
Hayden Hawkey moves from the Rittner Buam SkyAlps to S.G. Cortina Hafro. The 28-year-old US-American recorded a .934 save percentage last season and was one of the best netminders in the Alps Hockey League.

South Tyrolean Goalie trio for Gherdeina
Paul Hofer, Leo Kostner and Hannes Stoll will keep the goal of the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it in the coming season. Additionally the South Tyroleans announced the signing of Anthony DeLuca. After playing a great season at the Manchester Storm (30G|25A), Anthony DeLuca becomes Gherdeina's second import for the upcoming AHL season.

Leading players stay with Ritten
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps announced the contract extensions with captain Simon Kostner as well as with the assistant captains Julian Kostner and Markus Spinell. The trio played together in the first line last season. Additionally the Buam have signed Ethan Szypula, who arrives from Slovakia, where he started his European career at HK Dukla Michalovce.

Bryson Cianfrone is back at Vipiteno
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have brought back Bryson Cianfrone, who scored 14 goals and 18 assists in Bronco's 21-22 season. Further, the Sterzing side hired Connor Sanvido, who arrives from Pergine.

Numerous departures at Jesenice
Champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice announced numerous departures. Besides MVP Antti Karjalainen, Niki Blomberg, Jasa Jenko, Rudolf Polcs, Ozkej Rep, Luka Scap, Nik Sirovnik, Joonas Larinmaa, Mark Sojer and Andrej Galushkin will no longer be part of the team. Still part of the team will be captain Gasper Glavic who stays with his boyhood club. For the Slovenians the forward already played 290 Alps Hockey League games, scoring 91 points. Since the 2021/22 season he is also captain of the current champion.
