The Italian-Swedish center came up through the youth system of VIK Västerås HK and earned early playing time in Sweden’s Allsvenskan, where Frycklund spent a total of nine seasons. He also played two SHL seasons with Linköping HC. In 2023, he moved to Italy, quickly establishing himself as an offensive leader and fan favorite. In 165 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League, the 33-year-old has tallied 95 points so far.

Thanks to his Italian roots, Frycklund holds Italian citizenship and has been playing for the national team for over two years. He helped Italy earn promotion to World Championship Division I Group A in 2025, represented Italy at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, and subsequently at the 2026 Top-Division World Championship.

Mikael Frycklund: "Staying to play in Italy was my priority, and as soon as I learned of Milano's interest, I didn't hesitate for a moment. I'm excited to help launch an important new project in a city so rich in charm and sporting history. It's a stimulating challenge, and one that also brings me closer to the part of my Family living in Lombardy."
