Sat, 13.10.2018: HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice – HC Fassa Falcons 8:5 (2:2,4:1,2:2)
HC Fassa Falcons has arrived with their new goalie Matthew Hewitt in Jesenice on Saturday. Despite some Power Play opportunities from each team, the score was even until minute 11: Then, Bašič‘s Power Play goal gave the Red Steelers a 1:0-lead. The last two minutes of period 1 were amazing: The fans got to see three goals and so the score was 2:2 after 20 minutes. The Italians took the lead for the first time early in the second period. This was a wake-up call for the Slovenes: Čimžar (2x), Glavič and Tomaževič gave the "Red Steelers" a big 6:3 lead after 40 minutes. Period 3 was full of goals as well: Graf, Őstman, Tomaževič and Urukalo scored for their teams. The final result was 8:5 for HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice against HC Fassa Falcons….
Sat, 13.10.2018: EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau – Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4:2 (3:1,0:1,1:1)
The game started amazing in Lustenau: EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau had a 3:1-lead after eleven minutes. Vallerand opened the scoring after 96 seconds. The Red Bulls responded just 14 seconds later. Each team searched their luck in the offense in period 1 (12:12-shots). The next goals were potted by the Vorarlberger: D’Alvise (8./sh) and Vallerand (11.) gave the Lions a 3:1-lead. The teams met themselves on eye-level in period 2 (8:9-shots). The Mozart Citizens took advantage from a Power Play and reduced the score – 2:3. The game went up and down in period 3 (12:16-shots) as well, but the goalies Jucers and Laakso prevented a goal. In minute 60, Lustenau has decided the match with a 5-on-3 Power Play goal scored by Vallerand.
Sat, 13.10.018: Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 - Rittner Buam 3:2 (2:0,0:1,1:1)
Coached again by Nicola Tessari on the bench, the Asiago earned the victory in the remake of the last final of the Alps Hockey League as they reached the same points of the leader HC Pustertal that will play Sunday. Burning start of Asiago that after five minutes already leaded 2:0 against the Rittner Buam thanks to the double of Mark Naclerio. However, the first goal was a deviation from a Renon player. Then the same Naclerio scored on rebound. In the second half the game was slower. Simon Kostner reopened the game in double superiority with a shot under the crossbar. Then in the third time Anthony Bardaro realized in powerplay but also Simon Kostner. The game ended without other goals for Asiago victory. The Yellow-Reds have presented Canadian Scott Beattie as their new Head Coach.
Sat, 13.10.2018: EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel – VEU Feldkirch 1:6 (0:1,0:5,1:0)
The VEU Feldkirch was on fire in Kitzbühel, earning a 6:1-win. Soudek gave the Vorarlberger a 1:0-lead (12.). The Vorarlberger were the chiefs on the ice in period 2 (14:7-shots) and extended their lead with five goals from Soudek (24., 31.), Fekete (30.), Jennes (33.) and Rinner (38.) - 6:0. The Tyroleans did not give up in period 3 and were rewarded with a Power Play goal from Rosenlechner for the final 1:6 in minute 60 .
Sat, 13.10.2018: EC-KAC II – EC Bregenzerwald 2:6 (0:1,2:3,0:2)
EC Bregenzerwald was on fire in Klagenfurt, earning a 6:2-win. Ban (4.), Schwinger (28.) and Virtanen (30.) gave the „Wälder“ a 3:0-lead in the first half of the game. Klagenfurt had their chances as well (29:33-shots), but ECB-goalie Thomas Stroj allowed just two goals from Hochegger (1:3 – 32.) and Schnetzer (2:4 – 35.). In period 3, Järvinen potted two Power Play goals for the guests for the final 6:2. The game closed with a fight between Kompain and Suominen.
Sat, 13.10.2018: Hockey Milano Rossoblu – Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 5:4 (3:1; 1:1; 1:2)
The Hockey Milano Rossoblu has earned their first victory of ever in the Alps Hockey League. The home team overtook the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan for 5:4. The Milan side recovered for this game Alessandro Re while Hackhofer and Andreotti were suspended for the visitors. The home team was very strong at beginning: Eric Pance took the leaed. Then despite some penalties, Milan was more concrete in attack. Edoardo Caletti doubled. Vipiteno could not find the opposing goal and Guillame Doucet signed 3:0. In the end of time Mantinger shortened the distances. The Broncos found new life in the second half: Kyle Just on rebound reopened the race. But between the second and the third time Guillame Doucet exploded realizing two goals in powerplay as he completed his personal hattrick. In the final time there was still the return of the guests. The goals of Sotlar and Daniel Erlacher were not enough for the Broncos to resume the Milan that leaves the last position in the standings, overcoming in one stroke Klagenfurt-II and Fassa.
Sat, 13.10.2018: HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - EK Die Zeller Eisbären 6:3 (2:0,1:2,3:1)
The Gherdeina played a good first period. After a post by Benjamin Kostner, David Galassiti realized the first goal assisted by young Tim Linder. Pietila stopped the opponents as Gherdeina doubled with a nice powerplay finalized by Benjamin Kostner. Then in the second half the Polar Bears recovered and tied. Tobias Dinhopel scored in the scrum and then Herzog realized after a deflection. The Gherdeina was in trouble but Lundstrom in shorthanded run away as he took the hosts ahead. In the third time Leblanc equalized the score (3: 3). The game remained in balanece until the stroke of Roupec from the blue line in powerplay (57.). Shortly after Colin Long realized after a mistake of the Austrians. The same Long fixed the score at 6:3 for the empty-net goal for the Furies.
