Prior to his time in Austria's capital, Luke Moncada was active exclusively in North America. He spent his youth in Canada in the Ontario Hockey League. Later, the center moved to the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League.

At Asiago, Moncada serves as a replacement for Steven Iacobellis, who announced just a few days ago that he would not return to Asiago but join a club in Canada.

Asiago sporting director Renato Tessari on the new signing: "Moncada is a pure center who is tactically and defensively very good and who has shown over the years that he can always improve. His characteristics are very different from those of Iacobellis, but he is a player who definitely fits us."
