On Wednesday, three teams of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League have announced new arrivals, as the HCB Südtirol Alperia, the iClinic Bratislava Capitals and the Dornbirn Bulldogs each strengthened its defensive squad. Further, the EC VSV has another preseason game coming up, facing HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Thursday. Tonight, the EC-KAC hosts Bratislava, available as pay-per-view video stream.

Bolzano lands Nick Plastino
The 34-year-old defender Nick Plastino was part of HC Ambri-Piotta in the past three seasons in the Swiss NLA and started his European career in Asiago in the 2007-08 season. In a total of four campaigns, where he also made his debut for the Italian national team, the Defender scored 124 points. After a short stay in the ECHL, he signed at Allsvenskan and went on to the highest level for one season each in Sweden (Örebro HK), Norway (Stavanger Oilers) and Finland (Tappara Tampere). In 2016-17 he played a KHL season for HC Slovan Bratislava before joining the Swiss NLA team HC Ambri-Piotta. For three seasons he competed for the traditional club, scoring 87 points in 166 games.

Dornbirn re-signs Schnetzer and brings in Nilsson
Ramón Schnetzer is one of the twelve players that the club managers were able to keep in Dornbirn. "There is a lot of talent in these players and it is therefore very good that so many guys could be kept," explained Schnetzer at the signing of his contract. The 24-year-old was loan to the Bulldogs by the EC-KAC last season and played 40 first division games for Dornbirn.

The Vorarlberg side will also receive reinforcements from the north. The 29-year-old Henrik Nilsson is arriving from the highest division in Sweden from IK Oskarshamn to the Dornbirn Bulldogs. In total he completed 210 SHL games and scored 41 points. In the 2018-19 campaign he was signed for the first time outside Sweden, playing in the Finnish Liiga for Lahden Pelicans.

Three more imports for Bratislava
The iClinic Bratislava Capitals has confirmed the commitment of three import players, as Sacha Guimond comes from Innsbruck, while the Swede Filip Ahl and the US-American Mitch Hults arrives for a try-out.

ICE PRESEASON: VSV hits the road facing Jesenice
With Scott Kosmachuk and Maximilian Kammerer making their debut for the EC VSV, the “eagles” face HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Thursday, September 10th (7.00 pm) for the second time in the running preseason, winning the first scrimmage at home 6:3. While Daniel Wachter is ready again, Jerry Pollastrone will be back for the Austrian side, which still misses four players, too. Tonight there will be a league internal preseason games, as the EC-KAC hosts the iClinic Bratislava Capitals at 7.15, available as a pay-per-view video stream.
