With a 6:2 victory in Game 4 of the Finals against HC Falkensteiner Pustertal, the Styrians completed a perfect playoff sweep and finished the entire postseason undefeated with 12 wins and no losses. After the Vienna Capitals (2017) and EC Red Bull Salzburg (2022), the Graz99ers became only the third team to accomplish this feat. Since the league’s re-founding in 2000, they are also the seventh different champion in the win2day ICE Hockey League.

Game 4 of the Finals began much like the previous games in the series. In a fairly balanced opening phase, the Moser Medical Graz99ers struck first. Graz disrupted Pustertal’s breakout successfully in the eighth minute, and Kevin Roy showed great patience and skill alone in front of goaltender Eddie Pasquale to make it 1:0.

For HC Falkensteiner Pustertal, playing to avoid elimination, it was something of a wake-up call. The Wolves responded with even more determination, and Rok Ticar tied the game in the 11th minute with a shot from the left side. Momentum then shifted to the hosts in Bruneck, who created numerous scoring chances. In the 15th minute, Pustertal took the lead for the first time in this Final series as Mikael Frycklund converted on the power play.

The middle frame started with chances at both ends. In the 31st minute, Anders Koch forced the puck over the line with a fortunate bounce to tie the game again. Pustertal pushed hard for another lead afterward but was repeatedly denied by Nicolas Wieser or the crossbar. Still, the home side remained the stronger team for large stretches of the period.

Graz had the better start to the final frame. In the 42nd minute, Michael Schiechl sent the puck dangerously in front of the net, and Kevin Conley restored the lead for the visitors. From that moment on, the 99ers took full control. Just as throughout the entire playoffs, the Styrians stayed incredibly composed and confident.

Josh Currie delivered the key insurance marker in the 49th minute, finishing after a brilliant pass by Kevin Roy and his own rebound to make it 4:2. Pustertal opened up in an attempt to come back, but the Graz99ers once again showed their coolness. In the 54th minute, Lenz Moosbrugger finished for the 5:2 goal. It was Moosbrugger’s first-ever goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League — and it came in the championship-winning game.

The final touch came from a true Graz veteran: long-time captain Michael Schiechl scored the 6:2 empty-netter to seal the win and send the travelling Graz fans into celebration.

With the 6:2 win in Game 4 against HC Falkensteiner Pustertal, the Styrians completed their playoff sweep and remained unbeaten throughout the postseason with 12 straight victories. After the Vienna Capitals (2017) and EC Red Bull Salzburg (2022), the Graz99ers became only the third team to achieve this milestone. Since the league’s re-founding in 2000, they are also the seventh different champion in the win2day ICE Hockey League.

Lukas Haudum was named Playoffs MVP by the accredited media representatives. Paul Stapelfeldt also set a new record, becoming the first player ever to win the championship title five years in a row.
