The second test of the spusu Vienna Capitals was played under exclusion of the public in Znojmo. With Mountfield HK the Capitals faced one of the strongest teams in Europe. The Champions Hockey League finalist of 2019 took the lead in the fourth minute of the game. After that, however, a equal match developed, which Mario Fischer was able to equalize in the 38th minute of play. The 32-years-old Vienna captain had already declared his career over this spring before the forward made a spectacular comeback.

The score was 1:1 going into the final period. In this, the Czechs again took the lead. But again the Viennese were able to equalize: Patrick Antal (51.). However, the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League semifinalist from last season did not have the chance to go into overtime, as Mountfield scored two powerplay goals within 24 seconds to decide the test match in their favor.

The spusu Vienna Capitals are still without a win after two test matches. There will be a chance for revanche next Tuesday, when Mountfield and the Capitals meet again.

Already tomorrow, Thursday, four more preseason matches with ICE participation are on the schedule. The detailed preseason game schedule can be found here.
