New arrivals for Dornbirn and Villach

Before the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga kicks off on September 13th, the Dornbirn Bulldogs and the EC Panaceo VSV each announced new players. While the Vorarlberg side welcomes two-time champion Robin Gartner, Villach takes Christof Wappis on loan.

Two-time champion strengthens Bulldogs
The Dornbirn Bulldogs hired two-time champion Robin Gartner, who lifted the Karl Nedwed Trophy with the HCB Südtirol Alperia (2018) and the EC-KAC (2019). Thereby the 30-year-old Swedish defender grabbed the trophy in every single year he played abroad. Overall, Gartner, who played more than 200 games in SHL before, played 134 games in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga, posting 64 points (8G | 56A).

Villach takes Christof Wappis on loan
The EC Panaceo VSV finished its roster activities with taking Christof Wappis on loan. The forward arrives from EC Red Bull Salzburg and stays for one season. At the age of 16 he hooked up with the Red Bulls, playing for junior national teams too. In the past three years the 22-year-old contested with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the Alps Hockey League (67 points) and played 20 Erste Bank Eishockey Liga games too. Further, he gained experience in the Champions Hockey League and the Austrian national team.

“The decision for Villach was very easy for me, because it is a traditional club and also offers the perfect environment for my family and me. I will do my best to help achieving all the seasonal goals. I am very happy to play for the VSV ", Christof Wappis said.
