The Steinbach Black Wings Linz continue to build their Austrian core. Philipp Wimmer arrives from Salzburg, where he won four championships and developed into a regular player. The 24-year-old has made 105 appearances in the win2day ICE Hockey League, recording 22 points. He has also played 45 games for the Austrian national team, representing his country at every game of the top-division World Championship in Finland in 2022 and 2023.

Pioneers complete goalie duo with Leon Sommer
Leon Sommer completes the goaltending tandem of the Pioneers Vorarlberg. The 24-year-old received his hockey education with the Black Wings Linz, progressing through all youth levels. In addition to appearances in the Alps Hockey League, Sommer—who also gained international experience with the Austrian U20 national team—made one appearance in the win2day ICE Hockey League. He then moved to Canada, where he spent the past three seasons tending goal for Trinity Western University.

Bolzano sign national team defenseman
HCB Südtirol Alperia have announced the signing of defenseman Carmine Buono. The 29-year-old won the Alps Hockey League title last season with HC Gherdëina. A few weeks ago, Buono also represented Italy at the top-division World Championship in Switzerland.

Another former NHL player for Milan
Michael Dal Colle strengthens Hockey Club Milano. The Canadian, drafted fifth overall in 2014 and of Italian descent, is considered a physically strong winger. After a successful junior career and more than 100 NHL appearances for the New York Islanders, the 29-year-old most recently played in Europe—first with TPS Turku in Finland, then in Germany’s DEL with Iserlohn, before a brief stint in the KHL.
