Orli Znojmo have signed 25-year old Finnish defenseman Patrik Parkkonen. Parkkonen, a native from Porvoo, has a lot of international hockey experience for his age. He grew up in youth teams of HIFK before moving to Canada where he spent two seasons playing for Medicine Hat Tigers of WHL. After returning to Finland, he has featured in 93 Liiga games for Ässät Pori. In 2015, Parkkonen moved to Germany, becoming one of elite players of DEL2 side Lausitzer Füchse. He spent the last season in Swedish Allsvenskan. "Patrik is a skilled defenseman with good offensive contribution and excellent skating. We are pleased to sign him and expect him to contribute in general play and also on our powerplays," says sports manager Rostislav Docekal.
