Gunnarwolfe Fontaine spent no fewer than five years playing college hockey in the United States and earned call-ups to both the AHL (Iowa Wild) and ECHL (Cincinnati Cyclones) in 2025 and 2026. During the past season, the 25-year-old recorded 45 points in 71 games for Cincinnati. The versatile centerman was drafted by Nashville in 2020 and, as a junior, had the honor of representing the United States internationally.

Gunnarwolfe Fontaine: “I chose HC Falkensteiner Pustertal because in my discussions with the management, I could feel the drive to work with focus and determination every day to keep improving. I want to help the team reach the playoffs with my fast, competitive, and relentless style of play, and to win as many games as possible. The support the team receives from the entire valley is incredible, and I can’t wait to become part of the community and get started.”

Experienced forward for Milano
Milano Hockey Club have signed forward Greg McKegg. The 33-year-old Canadian brings experience from 251 NHL games and can play both center and wing. McKegg was selected in the third round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs and has appeared for seven NHL teams over the past twelve professional seasons. He has recorded a total of 41 points in the NHL, along with 264 points in 497 AHL games. Following a short, injury-affected stint in the Czech Republic and a brief spell in the KHL, McKegg now joins league newcomers Milano.

Offensive contract extensions in Bolzano, Budapest, and Ljubljana
HCB Südtirol Alperia have announced the contract extension of Cristiano DiGiacinto. The 30-year-old will enter his fourth season with the Foxes. The forward has recorded 66 points in 125 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League. With the Italian national team, DiGiacinto recently competed in both the Olympic Games and the IIHF World Championship (Top Division).

Jussi Tammela will remain with FTC-Telekom for another season. The Finnish forward joined Budapest last summer from Norway and recorded 31 points in 46 games, including 18 goals and 13 assists.

Jaka Sodja will enter his sixth season with Olimpija Ljubljana. The 26-year-old has already played 220 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League, recording 69 points.
