After doing a great job for the Zagreb Bears, Kevin Poulin decided to take a new step in his career. Poulin leaves Medveščak for the Swiss club Kloten, and in the meantime he will spend the whole of February at the Winter Olympics in PyongChang, where he will play for Team Canada. Because  of that 27-year-old Canadian Kevin Carr arrives to Medveščak from Utah Grizzlies, where he has reached a save% of 90,8 and a GAA of 2,71 from 29 games this season. Medveščak's Sports Director Aaron Fox said about the goalkeeper change in the Medveščak's Erste Bank Eishockey League team: »Poulin got a great offer to finish the year in Switzerland, and with him making the Canadian Olympic team and not being available for the whole month of February for us, this is obviously an opportunity we can’t hold Kevin back from. It will be fun to watch Canada at the Olympics this year knowing Kevin got selected as part of our roster and we wish him success the rest of the way. - Carr has played the most games in the ECHL the last 3 years. He comes highly recommended from numerous NHL goalie coaches who have worked with him. He is very excited to come to Europe and make a name for himself over here. He’s ready to help us finish our season the right way.«

HC Orli Znojmo have signed 23-year old Canadian forward Ryan Olsen. He joins from Utah Grizzlies in ECHL. This signing is Olsen´s first in Europe. Growing up in the Vancouver area, he has played in WHL, AHL and this season in ECHL before joining Znojmo. "Olsen is a two-way forward with good finishing who is also capable of playing a physical game. We hope his addition will help our team before the key part of the season," sports manager Rostislav Docekal says. At the same time, defenseman Tomas Pastor has left the team and joins Frydek-Mistek in WSM liga (Czech 2nd tier).

Fehervar AV19 announced the contract extensions for 2018/19 with Headcoach Hannu Järvenpää and US-goalie MacMillan Carruth, who has reached a save% of 92,3 and a GAA of 2,9 from 26 Erste Bank Eishockey Liga-games in his first season in Europe. „It’s great to be here as a coach and as a person, too. This will be my 10th season in Europe, I’ll work hard to make the team, the fans and the city happy. We are making baby steps to in the right direction but I believe we can make playoffs. We are focusing on the next game now, because there is quite a challenge in front of us. I am happy that Mac Carruth will be here next year, he is one of the best goalies of the league.“, said Hannu Järvenpää.
