New head coaches at Lustenau and Fassa

The EHC Lustenau and the SHC Fassa Falcons both presented new head coaches for the upcoming season in the Alps Hockey League. Mike Flanagan took over the Austrian side, Marco Liberatore will supervise the Italian club. Further the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it extended with three Italian players, while Max Tjernström left the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, returning home to Modo Hockey.

Mike Flanagan takes over EHC Lustenau
After Christian Weber left the EHC Lustenau some weeks ago to sign with EHC Basel, the “Sticker” presented Mike Flanagan as the new head coach for the upcoming Alps Hockey League season. The 51-year-old Canadian was part of Nürnberg Ice Tigers’ coaching staff in DEL between 2016 and 2019 and worked last for the Schwenninger Wild Wings as assistant coach. Prior that he coached Valpellicle and Neumarkt in Italy.

Marco Liberatore coaches SHC Fassa Falcons
The SHC Fassa Falcons will start the new season in Alps Hockey League with Macro Liberatore as head coach. The 52-year-old Italian coached some different youth teams at the Academy Bolzano in the past years and the woman national team of Italy. He played at Fassa between 1986 and 1998.



Roster changes at Red Bull Hockey Juniors and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
Further the Red Bull Hockey Juniors and the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it announced new roster updates. The Austrian side has to deal without Max Tjernström in the upcoming season, as he returned home to Modo Hockey after posting 33 points in 44 games for Salzburg in the past campaign. Gherdeina presented three contracted extensions: Andreas Vinatzer, Leo Kostner and Joel Brugnoli resigned for one more season.
