First import player for Graz
The Moser Medical Graz99ers introduced their first new import for the upcoming season. Joey Martin moves from the Stavanger Oilers to Graz.
Joey Martin will strengthen the Moser Medical Graz99ers in the upcoming season. The 32-year-old Canadian played many years in the EIHL with the Cardiff Devils. In the 2019/2020 season, the center was the captain of the Devils, in 6 years the forward brought it to 143 goals, 243 assists and he lifted the cup twice. Last season Martin played in Norway for the Stavanger Oilers, scoring 11 goals and 8 assists in 19 games. The Canadian is considered a versatile forward who has his qualities especially in front of goal.

Joey Martin, Moser Medical Graz99ers: "I'm already looking forward to the 99ers and can't wait to come to Graz and fight for the championship."

Witting brothers stay in Klagenfurt
Samuel and Marcel Witting moved to Klagenfurt in their teens, then gained experience elsewhere and returned to the KAC in 2018 and 2020, respectively. Now the pair of brothers extended for another year.

Marcel Witting (25) already made his debut in January 2013 at the age of 17 in the EC-KAC first team. He gained a foothold in adult ice hockey in two years in the Alps Hockey League, returning to Klagenfurt in 2018. Originally slated for the farm team, the forward settled into the professional squad over the course of the preseason, ultimately playing in all 69 games of the season en route to the 2019 championship title. The two seasons since then have been overshadowed by injuries for the energetic winger, but Marcel Witting is now looking to return to the red and white team. He has played a total of 144 ICE games for the EC-KAC, in which he has scored 20 points (five goals, 15 assists). Furthermore, he made five appearances in the Champions Hockey League and 22 games in the Alps Hockey League.

Samuel Witting (23) moved back to the Wörthersee last summer after almost five years in the EC Salzburg organization. Thanks to outstanding performances in the farm team in the Alps Hockey League (30 scoring points in 15 games this season), the forward made the leap back to the first team, to which he belonged continuously from the end of January. Especially in the playoffs Samuel Witting convinced in the forward line with Thomas Hundertpfund and Johannes Bischofberger, in total he collected 15 scorer points (seven goals, eight assists) in 48 games and posted a +11 rating.

Oliver Pilloni, General Manager: "Marcel Witting has - not least due to injury - had two difficult years, but we believe in his abilities and want to give him the chance to fight his way back into the squad of our professional team with good performances. Samuel Witting showed a very positive development last season, he was able to work on weaknesses in his game in the farm team in the meantime and established himself as a fixed component of the fighting team from the turn of the year. We think that the two brothers can and will be valuable components of our team."
