US defender for Vienna

The spusu Vienna Capitals have strengthened their squad for the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, which starts on September 25th with Frank Hora. The 24-year-old comes from the East Coast Hockey League and will play his first season in Europe with Vienna.

"I'm really excited and happy that this opportunity is coming up in such a great city like Vienna. I have heard only the best about Vienna and the Caps organization. I am ready for a hopefully long and successful season with the spusu Vienna Capitals," says Hora, who grew up in Cheektowaga, New York State. In the club's broadcast of the Viennese, the 24-year-old is described as a "reliable defender, who doesn't shy away from any duel and who also interferes offensively".

Hora, who was invited to the development camps of NHL clubs Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres four years ago, completed last season in the ECHL in the Jersey of the Cincinnati Cyclones. In total, the offensive Defender has competed 193 times in North America's third division. Hora also showed his talent twelve times in the American Hockey League. "Frank gives us more flexibility in defense. With his commitment, we can also take the pressure off our young guns, who will be fully challenged in their first professional season," says Dave Cameron, head coach of spusu Vienna Capitals.

The Dornbirn Bulldogs squad is taking shape

In addition to a newly signed goalie duo - Oskar Östlund and Thomas Höneckl - the Dornbirn Bulldogs were able to extend the contracts of William Rapuzzi and Emilio Romig. Rick Nasheim returns to the coaching bench as assistant coach to Bulldogs head coach Kai Suikkanen.

The Dornbirn Bulldogs are entering the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, which starts on 25 September, with a new goalie duo. After two seasons with cooperation partner EC Bregenzerwald (13/14 and 14/15), the 28-year-old Swede Östlund played the last five seasons in the highest leagues of Norway, Sweden and Germany. Höneckl (30) learned his trade at EC Red Bull Salzburg, became champion three times with the Mozartstädter, and then signed up with Villacher SV and the Graz 99ers.

Further the Vorarlberger could hold at least eleven players from last season. Thus also the US-American William Rapuzzi and Emilio Romig extended. Rapuzzi came in the past season to 27 points in 39 games. Romig moved from the spusu Vienna Capitals to Vorarlberg before last season. In his premiere season for Dornbirn, the now 27-year-old Austrian scored 29 points.

After a year in the background of the Bulldogs organization, Rick Nasheim returns to the coaching staff. The job as assistant to Kai Suikkanen is already the 13th season as co-trainer for the Canadian native of Vorarlberg.
