Two talented defencemen remain in Ljubljana
Olimpija Ljubljana has extended the contracts of the two 22-year-old defencemen Bine Mašič and Jan Ćosić. Mašič gained first experience in senior hockey with Jesenice. After a season in the Alps Hockey League, he moved to Finland in 2021, where he played for both the U20 and the Liiga team of Vaasan Sport . In 2023, the defenceman played his first senior World Championship with his home country, to which he also returned at club level: in January 2024, Mašič joined Olimpija Ljubljana in the win2day ICE Hockey League, where he immediately impressed. In the past season, the 22-year-old received a lot of trust from the coaching staff and even recorded 24 points in 47 games.

Ćosić gained international experience both in Sweden with Nyköpings SK and in the U20s of Vaasan Sport. The defenceman is now entering his third full season with Olimpija, having played 78 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League so far (20 points).

Both players were in the Slovenian squad at the recently concluded World Championship and managed to stay at top level with their home country - Mašič even scored a goal.
