Nikša Juric named Young Star of the Month January

For the fourth time this season, the Alps Hockey League has named its Young Star of the Month. In the end, the vote – consisting of fan voting and a vote by the league organization – went in favor of Nikša Jurić of KHL Sisak. The 20-year-old center is the fourth player to qualify for the season vote, which will take place during the playoffs. All players born in 2005 or later are eligible.

Nikša Jurić is currently playing his first season in the Alps Hockey League and with KHL Sisak. The native of Zagreb joined the club in the summer after spending last season with the St. Cloud Norsemen of the North American NAHL. Prior to his stint in North America, the 20-year-old developed in the Red Bull Academy in Salzburg.

In 31 games this season, the center has recorded five points (3 goals | 2 assists). In January, he scored two goals in a 6–5 home victory over Cortina and also added an assist in a 5–2 road win in Kitzbühel.
