The past weeks and months have once again presented the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League with major challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Games had to be postponed due to the increasing number of positive Covid 19 cases within the club organizations and the game calendar had to be rearranged at short notice. However, in the last week of the regular season, the league can be quite satisfied with the results, as almost 97% (292 out of 302) of the scheduled matches have been played so far. Due to the tight schedule, the most recently canceled games will not be rescheduled. Since the standings were already switched to a point-average system during the season and all teams have played at least the required 80% of their matches, this has no impact on the ongoing championship operations.

Pre-playoffs mark first highlight of season
Decisions in the postseason battle will be made over the next four game days (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday). Teams ranked first through sixth qualify directly for the quarterfinals. Teams ranked seventh through tenth will compete in the inaugural pre-playoffs in a "best-of-3" mode, with the seventh-place team choosing whether to face the ninth- or tenth-place team. The live pick to the Pre-Playoffs will take place on Sunday, February 27, 2022 following the live TV match G99-KAC directly on PULS 24.

The winners of the two pre-playoff series will complete the field of participants for the quarterfinals. These duels will also continue to be determined in a playoff pick. Thereby, the top-3 teams choose their opponent after the regular season. The fourth-place team is not available for selection and will face the team that was not selected in the pick.

The bet-at-home ICE Hockey League is looking forward to experience the season highlight together with the fans in the arenas. Due to the latest opening steps of the Austrian federal government, there are no longer any upper limits for persons in the Austrian arenas.
