Greg Mauldin, an forward with a lot of NHL- and AHL experience, arrives to KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the German team ERC Ingolstadt, where he spent the last season. Before German DEL, he played in the Swiss NLA championship, six seasons (2011-2017) with HC Fribourg-Gottéron. In Europe, before Germany and Switzerland, he also played in Sweden (2006/7), for IK Oskarshamn and Huddinge IK. „Greg is a high end forward who should come in and be a great addition on and off the ice for our group. He plays a great two way game and will be someone we count on every night“, Aaron Fox, Medveščak’s Sports Director and new Head Coach commented.
Mauldin’s professional career also includes a considerable number of games in the prestigious NHL and AHL. In NHL, he played 36 games wearing jerseys of Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Islanders and Colorado Avalanche. In AHL, he played an incredible number of 486 games! He played for Houston Aeros (on loan), Binghamton Senators, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Lake Erie Monsters, and the longest he stayed with Syracuse Crunchs (2003-2006). Mauldin is known as a player that never gives up, stubborn and with a character. His respectable sports career was marked with hard training, and for a while he even slept in the locker room, in order to be closer to ice and to practice 12 hours every day.
Jordan Samuels Thomas arrives to Zagreb from German team Augsburger Panthers, whom he joined for the second half of the last season. From AHL San Diego Gulls, where he played the season before, he arrived to Europe first to the Czech BK Mlada Boleslav, and then went to DEL league. In his career he took part in 195 AHL games and 148 NCAA games, and he also played in ECHL and USHL. In AHL he played for Rochester Americans, Ontario Reignes and San Diego Gulls, while in NCCA he stayed the longest with Quinnipiac University Bobcats, in the championship’s first division. „Thomas is coming in ultra motivated. He had a good stint in the DEL to finish the year and has worked extremely hard over the summer. He will be one of those guys who want a key role and will be hungry from day 1. Both guys fit the style we will want to play“, Fox announced the new attacker’s arrival.
