Olimpija Ljubljana remains unbeaten after four games this season. After dropping a point on Friday, the Dragons bounced back with a commanding win over Pioneers Vorarlberg to strengthen their hold on first place. The visitors struck first as Eric Florchuk opened the scoring in the seventh minute. Olimpija quickly responded and then turned the tide through league-leading scorer TJ Brennan, who netted twice in just one minute. Ljubljana never looked back, rolling to a 6-1 victory and maintaining an outstanding goal differential of +18 to stay atop the standings.

Defending champion EC Red Bull Salzburg also stayed perfect with a 3-1 road win over the spusu Vienna Capitals in the “Niki Hartl Night.” The Red Bulls dictated the pace from the start and were rewarded with goals from Travis St. Denis and a shorthanded tally by Lucas Thaler. Vienna got back into the game when Sam Antonitsch cut the deficit early in the third, but Salzburg remained in control. Captain Michael Raffl sealed the deal with his first goal of the season. The Red Bulls remain right on Olimpija’s heels, level on points with the Dragons.

First ICE win for FTC-Telekom
FTC-Telekom Budapest earned its first-ever win in the win2day ICE Hockey League in its fourth attempt. The Hungarian side had picked up its first point last week against Vienna, and this time they left no doubt. Innsbruck drew first blood when Troy Lajeunesse scored his maiden ICE goal midway through the first. But Alexander Ytterell answered quickly for Ferencváros. After an even opening period, the hosts pulled away with deadly efficiency. István Sofron struck twice to put FTC up 4-1 before the final frame. The Hungarians cruised to a 6-2 win and moved closer to the middle of the standings.

South Tyrolean sweep in Carinthia
HCB Südtirol Alperia put on a clinical road performance in Klagenfurt. Despite a strong start by the hosts, Luca Frigo gave the Foxes the lead in the ninth minute. From then on, Bozen executed with precision and silenced the Rotjacken, extending their lead to 2-0 after two periods. Two quick goals early in the third sealed the game, and HCB left the ice with a commanding 5-1 victory, establishing themselves as the closest chaser of the league leaders.

HC Pustertal also collected three points in Carinthia with a 3-0 shutout win at Villach. The Wolves looked dangerous from the start and went ahead thanks to a highlight-reel combination between Tommy Purdeller and JC Lipon. The duo combined again for the second goal, before Manuel Gander set up Andergassen for the 3-0 marker. Goaltender Eddie Pasquale recorded his first shutout of the young season.
