Jan Drozg began his career in Maribor and moved to Sweden at the age of 16, continuing his development in a highly competitive international environment. His potential was recognized in North America in 2017, when the Pittsburgh Penguins selected him in the NHL Draft. He went on to skate in multiple seasons with the organization’s AHL affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, where he solidified his status as one of Slovenia’s top young talents.

Drozg already wore the Olimpija jersey during the 2020/21 campaign, posting seven goals and ten assists in ten Alps Hockey League games. In 2023, he moved from the United States to the KHL, spending two seasons with Amur Khabarovsk before joining Kunlun Red Star last year.
