Oliver Nordberg was named MVP of the Alps Hockey League season 2018-19. In his first year in Salzburg, the 21-year-old was one his team's key players and significantly responsible for the successful season. The Hockey Juniors won the Final Four for the Austrian Alps Hockey League champion and in the league they impressively qualified for quarterfinal, where they were knocked out in game 7 against Lustenau. The forward scored 31 goals and 50 assists in 47 games, reaching a new point record in the league's history. This is also the reason why Nordberg got the most votes, having a comfortable 13-points advantage to second-placed HC Pustertal goalie Colin Furlong. In addition, he beat EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand to third place. After Anthony Bardaro (Asiago, 2017/18) and Eric Pance (Jesenice, 2016/17), Nordberg is the league's third MVP with the title going to all participating countries.
