Albert Krammer (#44) of EHC Lustenau, time 20:16, made contact with an opponent deemed as Cross-Checking, IIHF Rule 127. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 – ‘Careless’ – insufficient attention or thought to avoid harm or error. Liable to happen as a consequence of, by intending to affect an opponent through a reactionary or accidental motion or the incident is deemed careless causing negligence.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Albert Krammer (#44) of EHC Lustenau, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 127 –Cross-Checking.

On Thursday, January 2nd, (#44) Albert Krammer of EHC Lustenau, was involved in an incident deemed as Cross-Checking on VEU Feldkirch forward (#51) Dylan Stanley.

As the video shows, Dylan Stanley skated with puck possession into the attacking zone. While attempting to skate through multiple Lustenau players through neutral zone into attacking zone, Stanley is boxed in by 4 Lustenau players. This is considered a play where a defensive play will occur and most likely in the form of a body check.

However, the form of a defensive play that occurred from Albert Krammer is considered illegal. Instead of making a legal body check through the use of his shoulder or hip, Krammer instead raised his stick to a cross check motion. Through the use of the stick, Krammer raised his stick to the head of Stanley.

Although there was no serious injury, the potential of a serious injury is highly likely. Krammer, who had the option and availability to make a legal check must do so with the use of his shoulder or hip. The use of the stick as a weapon, in a horizontal manner with both hands on stick and raised to the head area of a opposing player must be avoided.

Effective immediately, Albert Krammer (#44) of EHC Lustenau is suspended for 1 game.
