One game suspension for Colton Hargrove

Colton Hargrove (#92) of HCB Alperia Südtirol,time approximately 58:59 was involved in an incident deemed as a Slew-Footing(IIHF Rule 160). The video evidence was sent to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 'Careless'.

According to the Arbitratorand having considered the video evidence and ruling of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga PSC, Colton Hargrove (#92) of HCB Alperia Südtirol,will receive supplementary discipline under rule 160 – Slew-Footing.

On December 8th in Bozen, an incident occurred, involving HCB Alperia Südtirol forward #92 Colton Hargrove on EC-KAC forward #21 Manuel Geier, deemed as a Slew-Footing.

As the video shows, immediately after a neutral zone face-offColton Hargrove attemptsto gain puck possession. Manuel Geier batted the puck from Hargrove, back towards the KAC D'Zone.In an effortto skate after the puck, both Hargrove and Geier are side by side, with neither player in puck possession, Hargrove contacted Geier in a careless manner.
This is slew footing.
The action of Hargrove in using his upper body in a back direction while his lower body, specifically leg, in a forward motion is slew footing.The action dangerously propelled Geier back in a defenseless manner. There is never a time slew footing is legal, but is considered in greater importance, when its unsuspecting on a non-puck carrier. This is not deemed a battle for the puck and instead, is deemed a careless action.
It was taken into consideration that Hargrove was kneed earlier in the game and this maybe considered a retaliatory action. However, the knee action was by StefanGeier. Manuel Geier had no responsibility in past incidents concerning Hargrove. Furthermore,it was taken into consideration, with the score 3-0 for KAC and approximately 1 minute left in the game, that Hargrove did the slew foot action out of frustration.Regardless, a player is and must be responsible for his actions at all times.

Effective immediately, Colton Hargrove (#92) of HCB Alperia Südtirol is suspended for 1 game and fined 250.00 Euros.
