Daniel Erlacher (#88) of Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan,time ~55:00, made contact with an opponent deemed as a Check to the Head or Neck, IIHF Rule 124. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 – ‘Careless’ – insufficientattentionor thought to avoid harm or error. Liable to happen as a consequence of, by intending to affectan opponent through a reactionary or accidental motion or the incident is deemed careless causing negligence.

According to the Arbitratorand having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Daniel Erlacher (#88) of Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan,will receive supplementary discipline under rule 124 – Checking to the Head or Neck.

On Saturday, October 19th, (#88) Daniel Erlacher of Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, was involved in an incident deemed as a check to the head.
The attacking player received a pass and immediately made a shot. The one timer motion, naturally put the attacking player into a shooting stance. When a player is shooting, it is difficultto prepare or alter body position to avoid contact to his head. The attacking (opposing) player was not considered a cause or reason for head contact.
Defending player, (#88) Daniel Erlacher, skating in a cross ice pattern as a defensive play, made direct contact to the head of the opposing player. Considering the check is not overly aggressive, it is the responsibility of Daniel Erlacher, while making a check, to avoid the opposing players head. In this incident, there was no body to body contact and only shoulder to head contact. This is deemed a CTH and considered illegal with a high potentialto cause injury.

Effectiveimmediately, Daniel Erlacher (#88) is suspended for 1 game.
