Riccardo Lacadelli of S.G. Cortina Hafro got suspended for one game by DOPS because of Slashing.

Riccardo Lacedelli (#21) of S.G. Cortina Hafro, time approximately 01:20, made contact with an opponent deemed as Slashing - IIHF Rule 159. The video evidence was sent to the AHL Player Safety Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 – 'Careless’.
 
According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the AHL PSC, player Riccardo Lacedelli (#21) of S.G. Cortina Hafro, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 159 – Slashing.
 
On March 18th, in Brunico, (#21) Riccardo Lacedelli of S.G. Cortina Hafro was involved in an incident deemed as slashing. The incident was sent to the AHL PSC and determined supplementary discipline is required under Category 1 - Careless.
 
The opposing player, coming off the players bench and entering the attacking zone as a non-puck carrier, is driving the net for a scoring opportunity. Riccardo Lacedelli, did not pursue a defensive means by skating. Instead, the opposing player skated by, putting Riccardo Lacedelli in a backside position to the opposing player. With no play, Riccardo Lacedelli resorted to using his stick, from behind, directly to the groining area of the opposing player. Due to the fact the opposing player was unsuspecting and had no means to protect himself, the slash was raised to supplementary discipline. The IIHF Rule specifically states - Rule 159 - vi. A player who lifts his stick between an opponent’s legs for the purpose of making contact with the groin will be assessed either a major and automatic game-misconduct penalty or a match penalty.
 
Effective immediately, Riccardo Lacedelli (#21) of S.G. Cortina Hafro is suspended for 1 game.
