Pavel Kantor gives Znojmo shutout win

HC Orli Znojmo finished without conceding a goal for the first time in the running bet-at-home ICE Hockey League preseason, beating AZ Havířov 5:0, while the iClinic Bratislava Capitals suffered a 2:5 defeat. They conceded two goals only in the final minutes.

In its fifth preseason game, HC Orli Znojmo remained without conceding a goal for the first time. Goalie Pavel Kantor stopped all shots on his goal and scored a shutout. The ICE team took the lead in the 16th minute through veteran Tomas Svoboda - and continuously extended it with two goals in each of the other two periods. In the end, five different players scored, two goals on powerplay.

In Brno, the iClinic Bratislava Capitals and Energie Karlové Vary faced each other. The Slovakian ICE team took the lead in the 6th minute with a shorthanded goal from new arrival David Levin, before the Czech side turned the game around with three unanswered. Former KHL player Nikolai Zherdev brought Bratislava back into the game - and the Capitals were looking for the equalizer: In the end, they couldn't score any more goals, but still had to concede two empty-net goals in the final minutes.
