While the Tyroleans took the maximum points on the fourth ICE weekend, the Viennese end their road trip without points. The "Caps" already conceded their sixth defeat of the season and remain in 13th place. For the first time since March 2018, the two-time champions had to concede defeat to the Tyroleans after regulation.

Already after 45 seconds the "Sharks" took the lead through their top scorer Michael Huntebrinker (1.) - but in the third minute the guests equalized through Patrick Antal. It was the first goal of the "Caps" after 122 minutes and 19 seconds. The game then went back and forth, with chances on both sides. But it was the Innsbruck team that took the lead in the second period: first Huntebrinker (34.) scored his second, dusting off on the power play, and then Zachary Magwood (40.) increased the lead to 3:1 shortly before the final intermission. Clemens Paulweber tied up two opponents behind the Vienna goal, then passed back into the slot, where Magwood lit the lamp. The Caps then managed to half the deficit through Brody Sutter - but a final turnaround failed.
